Getting Started

Creating Your First Course

Step 1: Access Your Dashboard

  • Log in to your instructor account
  • Navigate to your dashboard after logging in

Step 2: Create a New Course

  • Click the “+” button to create a new course

Step 3: Enter Course Basic Information

  • Course Title: Choose a clear, descriptive title (e.g., “Mastering Canva for Business Branding”)
  • Course Description: Write a compelling description that tells students what they’ll learn
  • Course Category: Select the most relevant category (Business, Tech, etc.)
  • Difficulty Level: Choose Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced

Step 4: Set Course Pricing

  • Enter your course price (we recommend $19-$149 depending on course depth)
  • Consider your target audience and course length when pricing

Step 5: Upload Course Thumbnail

  • Use a high-quality image (recommended: 1280×720 pixels)
  • Your thumbnail is the first thing students see – make it professional!

Building Your Course Content

Adding Sections and Lessons

Sections organize your course into logical topics. Lessons are the individual units of learning within each section.

Create a Section

  • Click “Add Section” in the course builder
  • Give it a descriptive name (e.g., “Introduction to AI Tools”)

Add Lessons to Your Section

  • Click “Add Lesson” within your section
  • Lesson Title: Be specific (e.g., “How to Use ChatGPT for Email Marketing”)
  • Lesson Content: Add your teaching content using the editor

Lesson Content Options

  • Text: Write detailed explanations
  • Video: Upload video lessons (MP4 format recommended)
  • Downloadable Resources: Add PDFs, templates, or worksheets

Adding Quizzes

Quizzes help students test their knowledge and improve retention.

Create a Quiz

  • Click “Add Quiz” within a section

Add Questions

  • Multiple choice (multiple correct answers)
  • True/False
  • Single choice (one correct answer)

Set Quiz Settings

  • Pass percentage (recommended: 70-80%)
  • Number of attempts allowed
  • Whether to show correct answers after completion

Course Approval Process

Understanding the Approval Workflow

Important: All courses on Primeversity require admin approval before going live. This ensures quality standards for all our students.

What Happens When You Submit a Course

  1. You Click “Publish”
  • When you’re ready to submit your course, click the “Publish” button
  1. Course Status Changes to “Pending Approval”
  • Your course will NOT go live immediately
  • The status will show as “Pending Approval” (NOT “Published”)
  1. You Receive a Confirmation Email
  • Subject: “Course Submitted for Review: [Your Course Title]”
  • This confirms we’ve received your course submission
  • Example email content:

Hello [Your Name],

 

Thank you for submitting your course for review.

 

Course Title: [Your Course Title]

Submitted: [Date and Time]

 

Your course is now awaiting admin approval. You will be notified once it has been reviewed.

Our team reviews your course for:

  • Content quality and accuracy
  • Proper formatting and structure
  • Appropriate pricing

  • This typically takes 24-48 hours
  1. Approval Email

When approved, you’ll receive: “Your Course Has Been Approved: [Your Course Title]”

  • Your course goes LIVE on Primeversity
  • Students can now enroll!

If Your Course Needs Changes

  • If your course requires modifications, our admin team will contact you directly via email
  • We’ll provide specific feedback on what needs to be improved
  • You can make changes and resubmit for approval
